Working Together: FAQs
Here are some of the questions clients often ask us as we begin working together, and how we approach them.
-
At Ainsley Wallace Interiors, we call it beauty with a backbone. Every project follows a clear seven-step process: structured but flexible, so it works for your lifestyle and timeline.
We begin with discovery, honing in on how you want your space to function and feel. In design development, we create floor plans and a cohesive concept, followed by custom selections tailored to your project. You’ll see the entire design plan presented (prepare to be inspired).
Once decisions are approved, we manage the implementation from start to finish: ordering furnishings and finishes, collaborating with contractors and trades, and overseeing deliveries and installations…all leading to the big reveal!
-
We love projects of all sizes. Our full-service design work ranges from single-room resets to full-scale renovations, new construction, and whole-home moves. Smaller design questions can often be addressed through a clarity consult. If you’re unsure whether your project is the right fit, reach out: we’ll talk through scope together.
-
That’s the heart of our work. My role isn’t to stamp a signature look, but to uncover yours. I begin by listening closely: how you live, what inspires you, what feels like home. From there, I translate those insights into a design that feels authentic, functional, cohesive, and elevated.
The process itself gives us multiple opportunities to check in and make sure we’re aligned, so you always feel confident your space will reflect you. The result isn’t a copy of my portfolio; it’s a space that reflects you at your best, and supports who you’re becoming.
And if your vision feels a little unconventional? Even better. Some of my favorite projects are the ones that are creatively fresh and expansive.
-
Absolutely. We regularly collaborate with architects, contractors, builders, and tradespeople. We see ourselves as part of your team, translating your vision into a cohesive plan and ensuring the details come together seamlessly.
-
Each project is scoped individually, based on size and complexity. We talk openly about the overall project investment from the beginning and provide transparent proposals that outline design fees, furnishings estimates, and any additional costs.
We work on a flat fee model for design fees. Our clients appreciate the clarity, and it allows us to focus on making creative magic instead of tracking hours. It’s a framework that benefits everyone.

Neuroaesthetics explores how our brains respond to the spaces we live and work in. Research shows we feel most at ease when a space balances homeyness (comfort and belonging), coherence (clarity and order), and fascination (elements that invite curiosity and engagement).
This lens helps us design intentional spaces that are deeply personal and responsive to differences like neurodiversity. The result is a home or workplace that not only looks beautiful, but also feels calm, authentic, and alive.
